Health professionals encourage you to walk 10,000 steps a day. That's what people have been doing for millions of years. Unfortunately, just in the last century, people have started walking far less. So in comes the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I think it's offering a fun way to encourage more walking in your life. It just keeps a count of your daily steps, and gives you a rewarding notification when you've met the goal of 10,000 steps.

If you haven't upgraded to the Galaxy Note 3 yet, you can download Runtastic Pedometer. It is free, and it uses the gyroscope to count your steps. It is just as good as counting your steps, unfortunately for the Note 2, it will not count the steps when the screen is off. It is a bummer because on the S3, the screen will stay off but the counter still goes up. There is a work around, and it definitely helps. But it also limits the use of the pedometer while you're actively exercising, unlike Walking Mate on the Note 3 where it's just always counting your steps.
