The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, like most Samsung Galaxy devices have the Desk Clock feature. It was a feature that was seemingly absent on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (which is present, just doesn't enable automatically when docked). It can serve as a clock by your bedside, and it gives you a preview of the weather and your calendar so you're prepared for the next day.
